4-Month Weekend only Course on Agroecology for Professionals
Introduction:
A four-month Certificate Course, that is designed for working professionals and offered online over the weekends, primarily in English, to foster a deep understanding of agroecological principles and their implementation. Through interactive sessions and expert-led workshops, participants will learn about sustainable agricultural practices, biodiversity, food systems, community engagement, markets, policies, certifications, and more. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to implement agroecological principles in their communities and contribute to the development of resilient and sustainable local food systems.
Participants will gain hands-on knowledge in:
- Foundations: Systems thinking, basics of ecology and agriculture, food history and politics, sustainability, nutrition, gender, agroecological principles, indigenous food systems, and social movements.
- Ecological Practices: Natural farming, permaculture, seed systems, non-pesticidal management, integrating animals and insects, soil-water-energy linkages, watershed and landscape ecology, pollination, and pest management.
- Food Systems & Policy: Food system transformation, nutrition-agriculture linkages, market systems, global trade, climate change, certification, and sustainability indicators.
- Communication: Visioning future pathways, storytelling, visual communication, social media outreach, and sharing learning’s.
The Course is open to professionals working full time.
Dates: 6th June, 2026 to 20th September, 2026 (weekends only for 16 weeks)
Course Schedule
- 18 – 29 May, 2026: Applications open
- 30 May, 2026: Shortlisting process
- 06 June, 2026: Course starts
- 20 September, 2026: Course concludes (Total: 16 weeks)

- Deadline: Submit your application by 29.05.2026.
- Candidate Review: Our team will review all submitted applications.
- Interview Notification: Selected candidates will be notified via email and invited ford an online interview.
Confirmation Requirement: Candidates who successfully pass the interview will be required to pay a contribution of ₹2,000 to secure their spot, which will be reimbursed against bills/vouchers for local fieldwork expenses such as local travel, boarding, communication etc, after successful completion of the Course.
